It will be Dave Letterman Vs. Jay Leno as it’s announced that CBS has hired Letterman to compete with the “Tonight Show.” CBS says that Letterman will receive an estimated annual salary of $14 million. Letterman ends his NBC show on June 25 and his new CBS show begins in August.

 MTV says it promises to air 80% current music videos in 1993 and the only non-music program in the Monday-Friday schedule is the twice daily “MTV Half Hour Comedy Hour.” New shows include “MTV Jams,” and “Alternative Nation.” “Yo!
