The merger with Viacom and Paramount is approved

Julia Roberts says in the October issue of Vanity Fair – that her new husband, Lyle Lovett, reminds her of her fantasy childhood fantasy man: Abraham Lincoln – “stoic, regal, gentle.. that could be Lyle.”


Music news – September 8, 1993

Vice President Al Gore appears on Dave Letterman’s Late Show. He read his own Top 10 list of good things about the office. But he actually wanted to build support for a substantive public policy – his plan for reinventing government.

Passing – Helen O’Connell – big band vocalist of the 1940’s. She was 73.
