Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert resists mounting calls for his resignation after a government-appointed panel concluded that he was responsible for a “serious failure” of judgment that sent the army unprepared into last summer’s war in Lebanon. 

President Bush vetoes a Democratic war-spending bill that would have compelled him to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq. “Setting a deadline for withdrawal is setting a date for failure, and that would be irresponsible,” said the President. 

Iraq - Al Qaeda chief propagandist Muharib Abdul Latif Jubouri is slain in a U.S. raid.

More than 100,000 Israelis gather in Tel Aviv to press Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and defense Minister Amir Peretz to resign over their handling of the 2006 war against Hezbollah.

On “American Idol” –  It’s John Bon Jovi night!

Rock band Linkin Park will go back on the concert stage for the first time in a few years.

 Look for “Lyrics by Sting” – a new book that contains words of hits such as “Roxanne,’ Every Breath You Take” and others. “Over time, the meaning of a song can continue to reveal itself” said the songwriter/bass guitar player.
