Wedding Dress Trends of 2025: The Return of the Statement Sleeve?

Are you getting married in the second half of 2025, and trying to find a dress to fit the current trends?  It can be hard to find a dress that matches your style and also fits the fashion at any given time but, in 2025, the most popular dress styles aren’t so extravagant that you won’t be able to find them in a bridal shop. So, jumping right in, what are the wedding dress trends this year?

Drop Waists

The “it” silhouette of 2025 is the drop waist. This, in simple terms, is an elongated torso that is emphasized by a corset. It’s the perfect look for either a modern or traditional wedding venue! One thing to note is that these dresses do have to be tailor-fitted in some cases, so be sure to try the dress on in person if you can before you buy it to prevent any costly alterations or poor fits.

Daisies

Flowers have always been a popular part of weddings, and, in 2025, it seems that the use of daisies on wedding dresses is making a comeback. How, you may ask? Many bridal wedding dress designers are aiming to incorporate daisies in the lace on bodices, as well as the skirt of a dress and the veil. In some instances, these are separate fabrics that are sewn on, made of sequins and, for higher-end dresses, they’re hand-sewn in as part of the lace.

Statement Sleeves

If you want to add a touch of drama to your wedding dress, why not opt for a wedding dress with statement sleeves? These range from puff sleeves to bell sleeves and can help you to feel like a princess as you walk down the aisle.

For many brides, it’s worth noting that statement sleeves usually look better when they’re part of a minimalist dress, as you won’t want your dress to look too busy or cluttered.

Bows

If you’ve seen the movie The Devil Wears Prada, you’ll likely remember the scene where fashion icon Miranda pursed her lips at a red dress with a large bow sewn on the front. Catastrophe! However, this hatred for bows seems to be a thing of the past, with wedding dress designers like Michael Costello incorporating them into his latest runway releases. Of course, the bows on your dress don’t have to be huge, and can easily be incorporated into the bodice, skirt, or the veil, without being the centerpiece of the dress.

Crystals

What bride doesn’t want to add a bit of sparkle to her wedding dress? Many brides think that a wedding dress with crystals added will likely resemble a disco ball, and be sewn into the bodice of the piece, but this is not the case. In 2025, there has been a resurgence in crystals being sewn into the skirts, bodices, sleeves, and even the veils of wedding dresses, at a density chosen by the bride.

You can add a touch of crystal without going overboard and, for designers like Ines Di Santo, this was a core part of her bridal collection in spring! So, sparkle on!
