Another Tent Collapse Kills Two - Safety officials in New Hampshire were investigating the collapse of a circus tent during a severe storm that killed a father and daughter and injured about 22 others. Authorities were looking at how the tent was put up at the Lancaster Fairgrounds, about 90 miles north of the capital of Concord. They also were talking to survivors and witnesses.
The death toll has climbed to ten from an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in New York with 64 other people being treated in hospital, health officials said Tuesday.
In total, 81 people have contracted the form of pneumonia since the outbreak began in mid-July.
The disease is spread by bacteria discovered in the cooling towers of several buildings in the south Bronx neighborhood.
