Headlines -
A Navy officer who became a naturalized American citizen has been charged with providing classified information to China, United States officials said. The charges against the officer, Lt. Cmdr. Edward C. Lin, who was born in Taiwan, are part of a secretive espionage case in which Commander Lin is also accused of visiting a prostitute. One United States official who was not authorized to speak publicly, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Navy officials believed Commander Lin provided secret information to a Chinese girlfriend.

 

Sports -
Manny Pacquiao gets a decision victory over Timothy Bradley Jr. on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden - as Pacquiao is retiring.

NASCAR - Kyle Busch used fresher tires to overwhelm race-leader Martin Truex Jr. on a Lap 301 restart and sweep both NASCAR races atTexas Motor Speedway, completing his record ninth weekend sweep in NASCAR touring series.

Former Saints defensive end Will Smith left is dead after a “road rage” incident. Arrested is Cardell Hayes, a 28-year-old man known in the area as a former high school football star.

Passing - Ed Snider, the Flyers founder whose "Broad Street Bullies" became the first expansion team to win the Stanley Cup, has died after a two-year battle with cancer. He was 83.

NBA History - The Golden State Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies 125-104 to finish their regular season 73-9, breaking the Chicago Bulls' 20-year-old NBA record for most wins in a season.

Farewell - Colby Bryant plays his final game scoring 60 points. The Lakers trailed Utah Jazz 96-84, at the three-minute, four-second mark, but Kobe’s last three minutes put the Lakers over the top. Kobe Bryant had a 60.5 percent usage rate, setting another record as the highest player usage rate in an NBA game. Then, yet another landmark as Kobe took 50 shots, the most in an NBA game in over 30 years. He even broke his own former record. The final score was 101-96. Fans were going wild. He’s been with the Lakers all his NBA career - 20 years!

 

Technology news -
SpaceX resumes station deliveries for Nasa - and, in a double triumph, successfully landed its booster rocket on an ocean platform for the first time. An awesome site!

Netflix is about to hike the price of its most popular plan by 25% for long-term streaming customers, to $9.99 per month for the two-stream HD service. Starting in May, the No. 1 streaming service's standard HD service for those previously paying $7.99 monthly will increase by $2, based on member billing periods. Customers who signed up for the HD plan at $8.99 following the May 2014 price increase will be rolled over to $9.99 this October.

Passing - Daisy Lewellyn: Author and Reality TV Personality Dies at Age 36 From Liver Cancer.

Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil is accused of grabbing a woman’s hair from behind and pulling her to the ground at a Las Vegas Strip resort, police said. Police issued the 55-year-old Neil a misdemeanour battery summons and he has a June 17 court date. He was not jailed.

Passing - Hugh Hefner - founder of Playboy Magazine and all that followed. He was 87.
