Hours before a gunman opened fire at a Connecticut elementary school, police in Oklahoma arrested a teenager for allegedly plotting to attack his high school and trying to recruit classmates to help him.Police in Bartlesville, a community about 40 miles north of Tulsa, arrested 18-year-old Sammie Eaglebear Chavez shortly before 5 a.m. Friday on charges of conspiring to cause serious bodily harm or death. He remained in Washington County Jail on Saturday on $1 million bond, and he is due in court Jan. 11.

Authorities say an Indiana man who had 47 guns and ammunition in his home has been arrested after allegedly threatening to kill people at an elementary school near his home. Cedar Lake police were called to the home of 60-year-old Von I. Meyer early Friday after he allegedly threatened to set his wife on fire. A police statement says Meyer also said he would enter Jane Ball Elementary School and "kill as many people as he could." Authorities found 47 guns and ammunition worth over $100,000.

A man shot and fatally wounded a woman, then killed himself Friday at the Excalibur hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip, sending many patrons fleeing in fear. It happened at about 8:30 p.m. near the high-rise hotel's front entrance, Las Vegas Metro Police Lt. Ray Steiber said.The man died at the scene of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after shooting the woman, who was a vendor at Excalibur's concierge desk, Steiber said. The woman was pronounced dead later at a local hospital.

The first two funerals for the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary school massacre are scheduled for Monday (Dec 17) when Newtown, Conn., will bury 6-year-olds Noah Pozner and Jack Pinto.  Noah's family will greet the public before the funeral service begins at 1 p.m. at the Abraham L. Green & Son Funeral Home in Fairfield, Conn. The burial will follow at B'nai Israel Cemetery in Monro.

Democrats say meaningful action in the wake of the school shootings in Connecticut must include a ban on military-style assault weapons and a look at how the nation deals with individuals suffering from serious mental illness.

The National Rifle Association broke its silence on last week's shooting rampage at a Connecticut elementary school that left 26 children and staff dead. "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun," the group's top lobbyist, Wayne LaPierre, said at a Washington news conference.

Trailing, 48-35, in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, Arizona scored on a two-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Matt Scott to wide receiver Austin Hill with 42 seconds left. Kicker John Bonano's extra point pulled Arizona to within six, 48-42. Bonano then pushed a perfect onsides kick to the left and Wildcats defensive back Marquis Flowers recovered at his own 49 with 40 seconds left.

Apple orchestrated one of its most ambitious one-day launches Friday, releasing the iPhone 5 in 33 countries in a global roll-out that moved westward across the timeline.

Hulu Plus more than doubled the number of subscribers who pay for access to its premium content in 2012. The streaming service now numbers 3 million paid subscribers, Hulu CEO Jason Kilar announced in a blog post Monday. That's a far cry from the nearly 30 million subscribers the company's main rival Netflix attracts, but it is a sign that Hulu is moving in the right direction.

Google Inc sold set-top TV box maker Motorola Home to Arris Group Inc for $2.35 billion in cash and stock, the companies announced on Wednesday. The transaction, which was approved by the boards of  directors of both companies, is expected to close by the second quarter of 2013, subject to regulatory  approvals. Google will have a roughly 15.7 percent ownership interest in Arris, a Suwanee, Georgia-based cable equipment maker, after the deal.

In a decision signed last week, an arbitrator found that the comments from Miss Pennsylvania USA Sheena Monnin were false, harmful and malicious. Monnin had alleged that the five finalists had been selected in advance of the pageant's live telecast.

 ABC News veteran and former correspondent Sam Donaldson is facing a drunken driving charge in Delaware. Police in the southern coastal town of Lewes say the 78-year-old Donaldson was stopped Dec. 1 for a traffic violation. Police say the officer determined Donaldson had been drinking and gave him field sobriety tests. Donaldson was arrested and later released.
