Sen. Obama says that as president, he would spend $210 billion to create jobs in construction and environmental industries.

General Motors posts a $38.7 billion loss for 2007 – a record for any auto manufacture.

Back Obama wins in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, as does McCain.

Obama wins in Maine.

After a series of defeats, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton shakes up her staff, replacing her campaign manager. 

Three robbers walk into a private Zurich museum and in three minutes, made off with four it its most valuable paintings. Total take was worth $163 million. Four  impressionist paintings were stolen.

Pre-election violence flares in Pakistan when a suicide bomber strikes at a campaign rally in northeast Pakistan, killing at least 25 people and injuring about 50 others.

Yahoo Inc. buys Maven Networks Inc. for about $160 million to expand its footprint in the first-growing online video advertising market.
