President Bush calls the war in Iraq a “difficult year” in which extremists thwarted efforts to establish security and stability in the country. Meantime – President Bush is asking for plans to expand the military for along war against terrorism, saying a bigger military is needed for a long war on terrorism.

Four Marines are charged with murder in connection with the deaths of 24 men, women and children last year in Haditha. Four officers are also charges with failing to make accurate reports and thoroughly investigate the deaths.

 Miss USA Tara Conner, who had come under criticism amid rumors she had been frequenting bars while underage, will be allowed to keep her title, so says Donald Trump. ‘I’ve always been a believer in second chances” said Trump.

Microsoft says it is aiming to sell only a modest 1 million Zune units in the end of its fiscal year – June 2007. Meantime – Apple says it will sell 16 million iPods in the quarter ending later this month.  


Entertainment news –

Donald Trump/Rosie O’Donnell feud over the Miss USA flap as Trump called a Los Angeles talk show to sound off, saying, “She is a very, very unattractive woman who really is a bully.” It all started when O’Donnell, co-host of ABC’s “The View,” blasted Trump on a recent installment.

J.K. Rowling’s publisher says the Harry Potter finale book will be titled “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”

Live Nation was the largest concert promoter in the world in 2006 – reporting grosses of nearly $2.3 billion from 9,367 shows that sold 38.2 million tickets worldwide. Live Nation – once a division of Clear Channel, became a stand-alone public company focused 100% on live music.

 Passing- Ahmet Ertegun – The Turkish ambassador’s son credited with helping blacks and whites together with his Atlantic records. He was 83. 

The Rolling Stones were the top concert act in 2006 with $425 million followed by Madonna at $194,754 and Bon Jovi at $131,386.

Eminem and his wife Kim agree to divorce once again. They had remarried January 14 and were first married in 1999.
