Not over quite yet - A federal judge in Arkansas finds President Clinton in contempt for lying about his affair with Monica Lewinsky. This – even though Clinton was acquitted two months ago in an impeachment trial. Kenneth Starr now has the option to pursue criminal prosecution of Clinton before he leaves office.
President Clinton is holding to his plan of not sending troops into a ground war in Kosovo as the U.S. sends more planes into the area.
Anwar Ibrahim – Malaysia’s ex-deputy premier, is convicted on corruption charges and sentenced to six years in prison.
President Clinton renews his call for equal pay for working women, saying the country has “the opportunity of a generation” to correct the inequity during good economic times.
Radio address - President Clinton used the latest report of shrinking welfare rolls – cut nearly in half since 1993 – to prod Congress for child care, housing and transportation programs that he said will move even more welfare recipients into jobs. He also announced final regulations that give states greater leeway in using federal welfare grants to set up such programs themselves.
In Atlanta – a construction worker trapped on top of a 250-Ft crane above a raging fire is rescued – before he was cooked. The fire had engulfed an old-five story mill that was being converted to loft apartments.

Amazon is buying Livebid.com – a 3-year-old action site. It’s the only live-event auction place online.
IBM and RealNetworks announce they will work together to develop a system for distributing music over the Internet that blocks piracy. RealNetworks claims that 50 million consumers use its media player to listen to music or watch video.
Priceline.com goes public with an IPO – going from $16.00 to $74.50. A year ago, Will Shatner agreed to be the celebrity endorser for Priceline in exchange for 100,000 shares of the company. The company has spent about $24 million on radio and newspaper advertising. Shatner’s shares are worth about $7.4 million.
Yahoo bests estimates with first quarter income at $25 million – from $3.3 million a year ago.
