Rapper Tupac Shakur is sentenced to a term between 1 ½ and 4 ½ years in prison for his 1993 assault of a woman in a Manhattan hotel room. His business manager, Charles Fuller was sentenced to four months in jail and five years’ probation for the same crime.

On HBO – “Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel” debuts in April.
John Anthony Masterson, creator of “People’s Court” dies in an auto accident near Malibu. Also killed – his wife, Mary Stewart Macdonald Masterson.
NBC gives Conan O’Brien’s late night show – another six-month renewal. That’ll make it two years on the air.
On “Saturday Night Live” – Host Bob Newhart. Susanne Pleshette appears and musical guest Des’ree.
