The existing Macintosh, called the Mac 512 - has only 512-kilbye of memory… KMET-FM Los Angeles is plugging the use of compact discs, saying they air more music from CD’s than any other rock station. May - Apple is dropping the ad agency that created its “big event” ads - the ones which propelled the company to national attention. It all began with the “1984” commercial telecast during the 1984 Super Bowl. Apple claimed that ad generated $3.5 million in Macintosh sales the day the computer was introduced. The commercial showed a young woman evading police, bursting into an auditorium and hurling a sledgehammer through a giant TV screen that set off an explosion.
